Product Description

Liatris spicata ‘Kobold’, also known by the botanical synonym Liatris callilepis, is a compact perennial valued for its tall spikes of vivid purple flowers that appear from July onwards. The unusual bottlebrush-style blooms open gradually from the top downward, creating a distinctive and eye-catching display throughout the summer months.

Its neat, clump-forming growth habit makes this variety particularly well suited to mixed borders, gravel gardens, patio tubs, and cottage-style planting schemes. The upright flower stems provide excellent contrast among softer perennials and ornamental grasses, while the long-lasting blooms make outstanding cut flowers for indoor displays.

Thriving in a sunny position with well-drained soil, Liatris ‘Kobold’ is both hardy and easy to maintain. Once established, it tolerates short dry periods well and performs beautifully in a wide range of garden settings where vertical structure and vibrant seasonal colour are desired.
