Preserved Lemons, Belazu

Preserved Lemons are salty, tangy, one-and-done flavour boosters. They’re lemons ( whole, split, or quartered) packed in salt and brined in their own or additional lemon juice—essentially, pickled lemons. These lemons add a savoury tang, adding a complex depth to your cooking. Think of the difference between regular lemons and preserved lemons like a cucumber and a pickle.

If a recipe calls for preserved lemon paste, it’s as simple as blitzing whole preserved lemons (seeds removed) in a food processor or blender until you achieve uniform consistency.
